Welcoming Dr Marianna Astore to the GloCoBank team!

We are delighted to welcome Dr Marianna Astore to the GloCoBank team. Marianna will be conducting research on European networks, in particular analysing the link between cross-border banking correspondents and migrant remittances with a focus on European migration to North and South America during the first globalization.

Marianna has been an associated researcher of the project for some time and presented a co-authored paper with Paolo Di Martino on branching vs correspondents in cross-border banking expansion in Italy (1870s-1913) at our first project conference in March 2023. We look forward to drawing from her expertise and working with her over the coming year.
