We are delighted to announce the formal start date of the GloCoBank project in March 2021. Funded by the ERC's Horizon 2020 work programme, the project's initial priority will be collecting and transcribing data which will capture the links between thousands of individual banks involved in international payments through bilateral correspondent banking contracts across 130 years. This will provide a comprehensive new data set for analysis which, combined with extensive archival research, will allow a much more granular assessment of the patterns and dynamics of international banking and payments.

The project will bring together a team of six postdoctoral researchers led by Professor Catherine Schenk. We look forward to introducing our research team soon, watch this space for further updates...!
